why i want to be in this roleplay:
Well, to start I was watching Devil Wears Prada this morning and I fell in love with the movie all over again. Working at a magazine has always been my dream job, I feel like I can relate to this roleplay and it’ll be fun and interesting.
I took another sip of my starbucks latte willing for it to wake me up. I had been working through the night and the monotone sound of nails clicking away at the keyboard was putting me to sleep.
“Wakeup,” Kaitlin, another stylist who I was working with, snapped her fingers in front of my face, “you better not look so asleep in front of Miranda or you’ll get fired on the spot. Did you pull the first look for the shoot?”
“Yeah, I’ll show you them,” I practically jumped out of my seat. I lead Kaitlin through a glass door into the room where the look I had pulled lay.
“Here it is,” I smiled as I unzipped the garment bag, to reveal a dusty rose colored embellished knee length skirt, paired with a sheer top, a Mawi Panther necklace and a dark green velvet blazer, I knew she would love it.
“What is that?!” an expression of sheer horror spread over Kaitlin’s face.
I crinkled my perfectly plucked eyebrows together, “you don’t like it?”
“It’s absolutely repulsive,” Kaitlin spat, “we need to fix this-”
“Miranda’s on her way here,” said a receptionist poking her head through the door.
Kaitlin lifted her hand to her forehead and closed her eyes looking like she was about to pass out.
Without any warning Miranda came through the door, a cold chill spread over my body and from the way Kaitlin shivered I’m sure she felt it too.
“Hi Miranda,” said Kaitlin nervously, I just stood there, terrified of what was going to happen next.
Miranda didn’t respond, instead she went directly over to the outfit and stared at it, taking off her glasses to look at the embellishing in the skirt up close. And then the unthinkable happened, she nodded... twice (I don’t know if anyone else remembers this but if she nods twice its good and if she pursed her lips it’s utter failure ect). A smile spread across my face.
“Who worked on this?” asked Miranda, looking at my outfit.
“I-” I started.
“We both did!” Kaitlin practically jumped in front of me.
'What?' I thought to myself, too shocked that Kaitlin took credit to say anything.
